What we did in 2026

Our Impact

This page records what COTA Foundation has done on Hawaiʻi Island in 2026. A week-long youth camping trip in July, hurricane relief distributed with a local church in August, and our first community gathering.

Each entry gives the date, the place, and what was handed out.

2026 Youth Camping Trip

11 to 18 July 2026 · Spencer’s Beach Park, Hawaiʻi Island

This summer, COTA Foundation brought a group of young campers to Spencer’s Beach Park in Hawaii for a camping trip built around adventure, teamwork, and the outdoors. From the first trek in to the last campfire, here’s how it went.

Hurricane Lala Relief

Hurricane Lala struck Hawaiʻi Island in August 2026. Hilo Coast United Church of Christ donated clothing and hygiene items to COTA Foundation, and we distributed them to people experiencing homelessness and to anyone else who needed them.

Hilo Coast United Church of Christ has agreed to keep working with COTA Foundation and to supply items whenever they are needed.

What the church donated

Our First Community Gathering

COTA Foundation held its first Bible study at Onekahakaha Beach Park in Hilo. Four women came. We provided notebooks, Bible highlighters and other items for everyone who attended.

Our gatherings are open to anyone who wants to come. Help from COTA Foundation is never conditional on taking part in one.
